Net One Systems Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shinagawa-Ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Osamu Sawada) is the first Japanese company to partake in IPsphere Forum, an international organization to discuss and promote the realization of next generation network architecture.
In addition to strengthening communications with manufacturing and telecom companies based in Europe, USA, and Asia and applying the most advanced information to solution development, Net One will proactively participate as a member through offering the company’s technical research institution, Technical Center for interoperability testing, providing recommendations on product development and network creation, and partaking in public awareness activities through participating in trade shows held in and out of Japan.
■Framework for Next generation network
Standardization activities for next generation networks and architectures led by large scale telecom companies and manufacturing companies have already started. Various concepts including NGN (Next Generation Network) to realize novel integrated IP web, and SOA (Service Oriented Network) to realize accelerated business processing have been proposed. The common aim among proposals is to create service-oriented infrastructure realizing secure and efficient service provisions. The overall goals are to realize efficiency in data sharing and service provisions through increasing system interoperability, and to eliminate redundant facility investment within the same geographical areas or the same companies to create a framework or business models that generate increased profit for the whole industry.
■Role of IPsphere Forum
To efficiently create a backbone network with advanced level of communication quality and reliability through flexibly integrating various technologies and products, discussion among manufacturers that develop the products, solution providers that create networks and provide operational support, and telecom companies that provide services to end users is essential. Repeated development and refinement of products must continue through gathering recommendations from standpoints of various companies to achieve industry-wide consensus for creating optimal architecture.
IPsphere Forum is an independent international forum impartial to any particular companies, business categories or geographical areas. IPsphere Forum is an organization to promote not only standardization activities, but also technical development for practical application, product refinement, and experimental testing.
