Net One commences sales of terabit router with minimized downtime
Offering next generation IP systems developed by Procket Networks

On April 25, Net One Systems Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shinagawa, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazuo Sato) commences sales of PRO/8000 High Availability Router Series^TM developed by Procket Networks, Inc. (headquarters: California, USA; President & CEO; Randall J. Kruep.) PRO/8000 Series are the industry's first to offer terabit routing feature through integrating independently developed VLSI PRO/Silicon^TM that permits one chip family to support 80Gbps〜960Gbps, unsurpassed reliability through modular architecture and automated network software, PRO/1 Modular Service Environment^TM, and advanced scalability. In addition to hardware redundancy architecture, utilization of automatic operation software that provides self-monitoring, self-correcting, self-configuring, and self-protecting ensures minimized system downtime and achieves high reliability.
Through ongoing system evaluation and testing, Net One has confidence that PRO/8000 are next generation IP systems that offer revolutionary value added features. Procket is the first in the world to offer PRO/8000 Series that realizes network processor speed of 40Gbps using single chip and 80 to 960Gbps using chip family. Significant increase in capacity realized in PRO/8000 Series addresses the needs of the communications market. Furthermore, those products allow for wide bandwidth interface of 40Gbps at wire rate. Procket designs highly scalable products to meet the data traffic and technology trends of 5 years in the future. System investment efficiency is greatly improved since the upgrading and interface change is supported through software downloads.

As a precursor to commencement of sales in Japan, Net One established Procket Networks Japan as a joint venture.
