Net One Systems, Invests in new company "Procket Networks Japan"
Joint Venture with Procket Networks (US) and two domestic integrators
Net One Systems Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazuo Satoh) have jointly started "Procket Networks Japan KK" to market and support next-generation IP platform and technology. They have partnered with Procket Networks, Inc. (headquarters: California, USA; President & CEO: Randall J. Kruep), NTTPC Communications, Inc. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yuichi Kawamori), and Tokyo Electron Limited (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Azuma Tetsuro).
Procket develops next-generation, high-speed IP Network systems, including ultra-high end routers. High quality products with innovative solutions are designed to improve network reliability, reduce TCO, and to work with new services. Japan is one of the largest markets for IP networking equipment, and it is also the world's most demanding market for product quality. In order to respond to the demands for high reliability IP network and technical support in such a market, Procket decided to partner with three of the leading network integrators in order to assess customer needs, guarantee product quality, and to establish strong support base in Japan.
"We are honored that three of Japan's most successful network integrators and resellers have chosen to help us make this partnership a lasting success," said Randall Kruep, President & CEO of Procket Networks. "Their strong sales and support capabilities are a perfect match for our technical innovation. The Japanese market is eager for the new generation of high-availability, high-performance internetworking products that our partnership will deliver with exceptional attention to quality and customer success."
Procket Networks Japan KK is headed by Steve Young, who has 20 years of experience in the Japanese market and has established and run international operations for major networking, computing and semiconductor companies. The joint venture's board of directors consists of representatives of Procket and the three Japanese partners.
Net One is always viewing the trends in advanced technology, and have always been among the first to implement innovative technology and products from overseas. In order to build networks which truly adapt to the Japanese market, we believe that the products not only provide high quality and reliability, but also respond to the needs of the Japanese users.
We will work with Procket, who posses great technology and staff, and also with the two Japanese partners to jointly incubate the new Procket Networks Japan KK, to develop the most advanced networks products for the Japanese market.
Net One will use our vast IP technology knowledge, fully utilize our strong support systems to provide "One-stop" for the development support, implementation, and operation of Procket's innovative technology and next-generation products and also provide next-generation IP networks which will connect network infrastructures from all areas as demanded by the customers.
Comments regarding investments for Procket Networks Japan KK
President & CEO: Kazuo Satoh
"As the first network integrator in Japan, we have always pursued the best networks for the customer needs and created the market. In addition to always evaluating and ensuring the technologies and products that we have selected by ourselves, we have supported product developments that reflect the Japanese customer needs through technology exchanges with oversea manufacturers.
We have had an on-going exchange with Mr. Tony Li, since his days developing products for Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks. Many customers attended the presentations by Mr. Randall J. Kruep and Mr. Tony Li at NETONE SOLUTION STREAM 2002 in June of this year, and we reconfirmed the high interest and expectations for the innovative technology and next -generation products by Procket.
In the near future, when high-speed and wide broadband which far exceed present capacity will be built to respond to the increasing traffic, we believe Procket products will have an important role as the core technology of the next-generation network. I believe that the role of Net One as the leading Network Solution Provider in Japan is to start Procket Networks Japan, cooperate with the partners, and to create new network environment and to propel network becoming social infrastructure."
