Cisco Systems, K.K. (Headquarters: Minato-ku Tokyo; President: Yasuki Kurosawa), IBM Japan, Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku Tokyo; President: Takuma Otoshi), Net One Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa Tokyo, President & CEO: Kazuo Sato) and ProStorage Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa Tokyo, President & CEO: Osamu Sawada) have agreed on creating and distributing iSCSI* technology based IP SAN* solutions.
The IP SAN solutions are comprised of Cisco's storage and networking products, IBM Japan's storage, softwares, and storage services, Net One's storage and networking products, and ProStorage's HBA*products and software products. ProStorage will lead the development and distribution of this IP SAN solution. The other companies will provide technical valuation and relevant technological information and marketing support.
The four companies have completed the connectivity, performance and high availability verification between Cisco's storage router product, SN5428 that enables universal access to storage using IP network and IBMR's SAN supporting storage server, ESSTM, FAStT, and tape products for data backups , LTOTM* used for data backup. In addition, ProStorage and Net One performed connectivity and performance testing with 3PARdata's Utility Storage*「3PAR InServTM Storage Servers」. The companies will continue to collaborate to develop and promote iSCSI technology based solutions.
Integrative solution using Cisco SN5428, IBM storage products, and 3PARdata's utility storage is an optimum solution for companies to deploy IP SAN that consolidates IP intelligence and storage networking technology.
