Net One Systems Co., Ltd. will commence handling "Lucina," world's first commercialized fully perfluorinated Graded Index Optical Fiber capable of low cost, high bandwidth (10Gbps) transmission

Net One announced that it will commence commercial handling of "Lucina" (Product name), a Grated Index CYTOP Optical Fiber made of fully perfluorinated polymer, developed and manufactured by Asahi Glass Company (Headquarters: Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo, President: Shinya Ishizu.) The companies agreed to enter into a contract at early date and commence sales.

Lucina, the world's first commercial base GI Optical Fiber product made of fully perfluorinated polymer ensures high bandwidth with low pulse diffusion. It provides frequency sustenance and attenuation comparable to glass optical fiber, and ease in handling comparable to UTP. As transmission of large data such as digital moving images becomes more and more frequent, Lucina will become low cost alternative to those users wishing to migrate to high-speed, high-capacity communications environment.　Also, Lucina supports creation of optical fiber network environment that is compatible with futuristic high speed LAN.

Through sales of the product, Net One will promote infrastructure business for next generation network, 10-Gigabit Ethernet, and enter into SAN market. Net One will provide total solution for rapidly growing high-capacity, high-speed network market
