Net One Systems constructs High Bandwidth IP Muticast Integration Media Network, the world's largest IP/TV system, for Wakkanai Hokusei Gakuen College

Net One Systems Co., Ltd. in joint cooperation with Toshiba Corp., was awarded the contract for High Bandwidth IP Multicast Integration Media Network for Wakkanai Hokusei Gakuen College's (opening in April 2000) Department of Information Media. Installation will commence from the end of Feb. 2000. Net One's proposal not only deals with computer networks but also describes features and operations of software applications and effectively provides a total solution that even includes suggestions for network usage. The proposal offers products using most advanced technologies and maximizes benefits of network computing. Cisco Systems Inc.'s IP/TV series products are employed and the overall scale tops that of the Stanford University's IP/TV, making it the world's largest IP/TV system. This system uses high bandwidth network web laid out within school and high speed processing computers to create network-computing environment capable of transmitting large amounts of data including multimedia data. Each computer is capable of handing interactive contents and enables timely transmission of data for streaming audio-videos and the Internet. To maintain high performance, backbone consisting of dozens of Gigabit Ethernet cables directly connected to Layer 3 switches and numerous mid-class servers are installed.
